Sylvan Heights is an up-and-coming area that is walkable to Charlotte Pike and Sylvan Park. The roads are narrow without sidewalks, but you can get to two walkable neighborhoods. There is a lot of new construction in this neighborhood. You also get the benefit of being close to neighborhoods with good restaurants.
